This project is Omniplex Groups third location in Great Britain to undergo a full renovation as part of their wider expansion programme.

The extensive redevelopment introduces a completely reimagined cinema experience for Sunderland, including fully reclining seats across all auditoriums, a new lounge space, and the group's first full Sofa Bed screen.

The site also features OmniplexMAXX, which includes a premium large format screen, alongside a range of new food and beverage offerings from Joe's Food Truck.

Omniplex Sunderland also marks an exciting milestone with the introduction of The Avenue, Omniplex’s  luxury cinema concept making its debut in Great Britain. The Avenue combines comfort, service, and design, with five boutique screens offering handcrafted cocktails and gourmet dining delivered directly to the seat.

This relaunch reflects Omniplex Cinema Group’s ongoing investment in enhancing the cinema experience across the UK and Ireland, bringing together innovation, comfort, and exceptional hospitality for film fans.
